We have wrapped up our agent querying. We were unsuccessful after 294 agents (although we did receive much encouragement), and that’s OK: we’re now nearly ready to self-publish the book. This was the harder route, as we had to do everything ourselves (editing, cover, layout, copyright/ISBNs/etc, and Ann starting up a micro-publisher, Swallow and Quill), but fortunately we had decent experience and capacity for this.
The first book is nearly completely ready. (It was much harder doing it ourselves, but also much faster than it would have been through traditional publishing: that would have seen an end-2025 pub date at earliest!) We expect a launch date somewhere near Valentine’s Day 2025: over the next 2-3 weeks.
It will be available as an ebook at Amazon as well as softcover print-on-demand there and at Ingram-Spark. After launch we’ll be working hard to get the book into as many bookstores, libraries, etc as we can! We’ll update the availability here in the blog.
